This means that putting yourself in that environment with other good footballers is going to have a synergistic effect.
Your environment is vital. It is no coincidence that this is outside in the fresh air and sunlight surrounded by other vibrant people. Seeing other talented players in person gives you the underlying belief that you can do it too.
Surround yourself by the best players you can find and raise your own level.
Watching the talented older boys gives your brain vital information. Not only watching but getting schooled by the older boys in direct competition teaches you and pushes your body to adapt and grow faster than any cone or trainer yelling at you ever could. Just the effort to try and dribble the whole court will give you needed experience to be able to make big moves in the actual game.
There is nothing wrong with spending some time to work on your ball mastery, pinging, shooting, volleying, and other skills but only with your natural athleticism unlocked will it have the effect you truly desire. This is why elite pros can do some drills and get a benefit while others copy them and don't get the same benefit.
