Paul Chek has been a major influence on my progression as an athlete, student, and man. He covers everything ranging from professional athletics to deep spirituality. I've uploaded below my raw notes from dozens of his videos, blogs, and podcasts. Below are a few important podcasts and videos to watch.
He has a very important concept of working in vs working out that I think is instrumental for elite performance. It follows along with much of my criticism's of the no pain no gain mindset. If you are always taxing the body, then you are only withdrawing from your bodies resources. When are you giving back to your body with proper recovery? Paul Chek shows many programs of workouts designed to give you energy many of which are related to Tai Chi and Qi Gong. They are designed to help you work-in as opposed to work out. This is so important in our modern world where everything is designed to tear us down and not build us up. Remember the goal is to perform your best, not just grind and grind thinking effort guarantees something.
With that said, I have moved on from many training aspects of Paul Chek's teachings in recent years. Specifically seeing how Paul doesn't seem to understand the fascial fitness of world class athletes and how that knowledge should influence training choices. He himself has well-tensioned feet which he's not aware most people don't have. It's another case of you don't know what you don't know. Weightlifting has different effects when you're not playing professional sports and naturally fascial-driven.
He also doesn't seem to understand the harmful effects of artificial lighting which is a concern considering his vast library of knowledge.
