An Introduction
This has much to do with the fact that it is ever-present in both it’s natural and artificial forms. You truly value something in its absence. With modern technology and lighting, humans have effortless access to almost unlimited bright light with the flip of a switch.
Darkness is not something most humans are familiar with and most are numbed to the effects of light in its abundance. In other words, humans are so used to having the lights on 24/7 that we take it for normal. It is not. The duality of light and darkness exists across many stories and themes as it is a cornerstone of Nature.
*"*If science knew what LIGHT actually IS, instead of the waves and corpuscles of incandescent suns which science now thinks it is, a new civilization would arise from that fact alone.”- Walter Russel
The earliest religions known to man worshipped the sun and other gods based on the cycles of the Sun, moon, and the stars.
The Ancient Egyptians worshipped the Sun as the creator of all forms of life. The Indo-Europeans, Romans, and Native Americans all worshipped the Sun in one way or another resembling a force of life. (Source, Source)
The Sun Dance carried out by the Plains Indians of North America is one of the most popular ceremonies revolving around the sun.
Young Native Americans danced for days on end without food or rest powered only by the Sun. It was a ritual done to honor the Sun and her wisdom but to also test the stamina of their young men. (Source)
I myself always saw historical concepts like these as a cause for further investigation, but modern medicine writes these accounts off as crazy religious fanaticism or merely primitive which of course ends the discussion.
When you take an objective and rational point of view there is much to learn from these ancient rituals and practices when you peel back the scientific mechanisms through which they operate (and how they can influence the health and vitality of the human body).
"Light controls the console of life. That console is a mitochondrion. If you want to find the secrets of life think in terms of energy, frequency, and oscillation. All frequencies, waves, and information require a source of propagation of the light. How interesting that matter responds to frequency, and that frequency is from a source of light we chose to spend our time around. Therefore the matter is responding to the source of electromagnetic waves in a wireless fashion using the topology of water and proteins in us as its lever."
Light is a section of the electromagnetic radiation spectrum. There is both visible light and non-visible light. Nanometers (nm) is the unit of measurement for the wavelength of light. As you can see below the wavelength dictates the color you see with your eye.
Violet 380 - 435 nm
Blue 435 - 500 nm
Cyan 500 - 520 nm
Green 520 - 565 nm
Yellow 565 - 590 nm
Orange 590 - 625 nm
Red 625 - 740 nm
As we’ll discuss in future articles, the electromagnetic spectrum ranges from longer wavelength radio waves and broadcast bands to shorter wavelength Gamma rays and Cosmic rays.
Everything on this spectrum has serious implications for your Inner Furnace and ability to recover and regenerate as a footballer. We’ll focus on visible and non-visible light for now as these have the most direct implications for the health of our mitochondria that we can actively control.
"Blue light levels in sunlight tell your body what time of year it is - that affects hormones and all mitochondrial processes." - Dr. Jack Kruse
The spectrum of sunlight throughout the day is constantly fluctuating based on the time of day, time of year, your location on the planet, and more.
All the different spectrums of light have a hand in controlling your circadian rhythm and chronobiology.

Your circadian rhythm is responsible for the creation and secretion of hormones that control the vitality and functionality of your body in many ways.
Whether we are talking about the relationship of melatonin and cortisol or testosterone, your circadian rhythm is most important when fostering your Inner Furnace.
The light you surround yourself with dictates your circadian rhythm. Hormones and their functions in regard to the Inner Furnace and the Performance Matrix will be laid out in future articles.
Recent discoveries have shown that your skin, lungs, and gut also act as light receptors through a variety of mechanisms.
"Sunlight is designed to make us addicted to nature by the beta-endorphin released when sunlight hits your eye" - Dr.Jack Kruse
Man-made light on the other hand is entirely unnatural where the light spectrums it emits in its many forms are unheard of from Nature’s point of view.
Something you might have heard of is blue light. This is a specific spectrum of visible light that is greatly spiked and isolated in artificial light sources.
When alone without the other spectrums of light present in sunlight, blue light on its own causes a serious list of problems.
Blue light activates cortisol, what is commonly referred to as your stress hormone. What artificial blue light tells your body is that it is noon when the sun is at its strongest.
This sets off a chain reaction. The body thinks it's noon and specific hormones begin to be produced and excreted what it does at that time of the day. Now when you are around artificial blue light at night, now you can understand why your body would have problems.
You are sending it the wrong information through an improper light environment and causing chaos in your mitochondria.
Here you can see the stark differences in what natural sunlight is composed of compared to what artificial light.
I’ll remind you that Sunlight is what’s been around for 4.6 billion years giving life to Nature through photosynthesis. Conversely, LED lights have only been around since the 1980s. Incandescent bulbs were invented in 1879, and CFL bulbs in 1968.
Sunlight would be described as full spectrum where artificial light is quite the opposite. Artificial light has no place in the environment of any human for optimal health, but is rather everywhere you go.

In future articles we’ll discuss the concept of human photosynthesis and how similar processes are occurring in you.
